Price increases on Cameras and Lenses

We have been seeing sale prices going up for lenses and camera bodies during the last 2 months. The current situation in Japan has further impacted the price situation leading massive increases from Canon & Nikon. We have also received updates from many of the assembly factories outlining closures, power outages, and building damage. This has led to uncertainly with regard to current stocks as well as future products and many dealers fearing part shortages.

This may be a great time to take stock of your current lenses especially and order any additional products you may need through this year. While massive outages are unlikely, both Nikon and Canon are advising that it may be difficult to meet consumer demand on most products. 3rd party lens companies like Sigma and Tamron have seen fewer price increases and only in very select lenses. Some lenses, such as the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 IS have been reduced in price last month and are continuing to show great potential. We will continue to monitor and update the situation as it happens.
