DJI introduces the Osmo 3 Axis handheld Stabilizer

Dji has just introduced a brand new 3 axis handheld stabilizer featuring a build in 4k video camera with 12MP stills. An app for your mobile phone allows for control as well as timelapse, panoramic, and long exposure functionality. While the Osmo comes with a smaller 1/2" camera system, this powerful camera allows UHD recording at up to 30p and HD recording at 120P for slow motion work. For those who crave even better quality, both the DJI X5 and the X5R are fully compatible with the Osmo and offer a larger Micro 4/3 recorder.

A host of accessories from bike mounts, car mounts, tripod options, and extension sticks mean the Osmo could be the best friend for any videographer on a budget. While I do wish we had some further options for cameras and lenses, the kit seems to be very well put together and produces amazing results.

The Osmo X3 camera has a 20mm f2.8 lens offering wide angle stabilization though this may be limiting for some uses. Pricing for this unit starts at $650 including the camera which makes it one of the cheapest options for high quality 3 axis stabilization. You can pre-order the Osmo today at B&H with shipping in late October: B&H
