Nikon D810 Announced

nikond810The new Nikon D810 packs the new Expeed 4 processor which as we observed with the D4s has an affect in several areas of the camera.


Performance has been sped up to a commendable 5fps considering the large file sizes of the 36MP sensor. This performance boost will make it a more logical choice for wedding photographers who don't quite need the super speeds of the D4s but were worried about the slower 3fps for picking those moments when they count. To also aid wedding photographers as well as others, the D810 packs a lower smaller RAW setting for those with more space conscious needs. The D800 is also capable of up to 60fps @ 1080p which bests the Canon 5D Mark III and also allows for clean HDMI out into a recorder for even higher quality video recording. Other video functionality include headphone in, mic in, full time AF, and Zebra stripes.

Low light results have also been improved to a notable 51,200 although I mostly expect the improvements to be with JPEG files as the faster processer aids the noise reduction process.
